The mission of the Department of Emergency Response (DER) is to support local municipalities and first responders in preparing for and responding to emergencies in our communities.
This includes extensive planning efforts as well as the coordination of response activities among various fire, police, and EMS agencies in Dutchess County. Guidance is provided through established protocols such as the Dutchess County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and the County's Fire and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Mutual Aid Plans.
The department also oversees the County's 9-1-1 Emergency Communications Center, which provides centralized communications and coordination for EMS, fire, and police agencies throughout Dutchess County.
Each of us needs to “Be Prepared” in the event of an emergency. Dutchess County Government can help.
