Drug Arrest in the Town of Pleasant Valley

The Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Cassandra Perri, age 26, of Dover Plains NY on 5/7/13 for various drug offenses.

At approximately 2:15 am on 5/7/13 a vehicle that Ms. Perri was a passenger in was stopped by Sheriff’s deputies for unsafe backing on Route 44 in the Town of Pleasant Valley. Further investigation revealed that Ms. Perri was allegedly in possession of 7 packs of heroin, a quantity of marihuana, and hypodermic needles. All of the items described were seized and Ms. Perri was then taken into custody. At this time Ms. Perri has been charged with the following:

  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance 5th degree (heroin) – Class D Felony
  • Criminal possession of marihuana 4th degree – Class A Misd.
  • Criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument – Class A Misd.

After being processed Ms. Perri was arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court, and was released on her own recognizance. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted in the investigation by the State Police. As with any other criminal case, the charges described above are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
