The Dutchess County Transportation Council (DCTC) serves as the designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Dutchess County. Federal statutes require that urban areas with over 50,000 people be represented by an MPO. An MPO ensures that federal transportation funds are committed through a locally driven, comprehensive planning process. Since 1982, we have served that function, providing a forum for state and local government to solve transportation issues and reach consensus on federally-supported transportation plans and projects in Dutchess County and the Mid-Hudson Valley.
How to Get Involved
All of our meetings are open to the public. You can join our public information email list to receive notices of upcoming meetings and planning announcements. Our publications are posted on this website and paper copies are available upon request.

Capital Program - Proposed Amendment
We are proposing an amendment to our Capital Program (TIP) to add two NYSDOT resurfacing projects: 1) on Route 52 in the Town of Fishkill, Town of East Fishkill, and Village of Fishkill, and 2) on Route 22 in the Town of North East and Village of Millerton.

Moving Dutchess Forward Adopted!
We're pleased to announce that the Council recently adopted Moving Dutchess Forward: our strategic vision for improving transportation across the county over the next 25 years. The Plan establishes goals for the transportation system, supported by policy and project recommendations that are grounded in data and research, and framed by estimates of future funding.
Coordinated Plan Adopted!
We're also pleased to announce that the Council adopted a new Coordinated Public Transit-Human Services Transportation Plan (or Coordinated Plan) to improve transportation services for people with disabilities and older adults.
Transportation Safety Action Plan
Our new Safety Action Plan reflects USDOT’s Safe System Approach and meets the requirements of USDOT’s Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program. It includes a comprehensive, data driven analysis to understand crash patterns across the county, as well as a hotspot screening to identify priority crash locations and systemic screening to find where proactive improvements can be applied. It also offers countermeasures to reduce crashes and establishes future safety targets.
